Palestinians from the village of Jaloud claim that a resident of the village was attacked this afternoon (Saturday) by a group of settlers who came from the Esh Kodesh settlement.

 According to a Yesh Din researcher, around 1:15 PM, a group of settlers attacked the Palestinian who was on a plot of land near his house, and another group of settlers, all masked, arrived and joined the attack as well.

According to them, the attack took place while a Palestinian electrician and the head of the Jaloud village council were in the area, repairing a power pole that settlers allegedly sabotaged and destroyed several months ago.

The resident, in his 50s, was attacked with stones and sticks and suffered various injuries to parts of his body.

According to the Palestinians, two soldiers who arrived in the area in the vicinity of the incident began firing stun grenades at the residents of Jaloud who were trying to help the resident, who was seeking medical treatment.

The Shai District Police opened an investigation to find out the circumstances. 

Lior Amichai, CEO of Yesh Din, said: "On the eve of the second holiday of Passover, violent settlers continue to act with the support of the state and the army to harm the Palestinians, reduce their freedom and try to expel them from their land.

This violence is supported by the Israeli government, the State Attorney's Office, which does nothing, and the various law enforcement agencies that work against the Palestinians instead of against the rioters.

We must stop this apartheid reality. "

Residents of the area said: "Every Saturday and holiday, far-left organizations come to the settlements to provoke provocations. This is a deliberate provocation funded by elements from abroad to harm us. Today fields were set on fire on the outskirts of the village, stones were thrown and the gate and security cameras destroyed. The left did not take it. "
