Thousands are expected to take part in a huge procession through the streets of Egypt's capital, Cairo, where the remains of 22 of Pharaoh's rulers of Egypt will be transported.

The huge ceremony, which cost millions of dollars, will include the transfer of 18 kings and four queens from the Egyptian Museum, a 19th-century building near Tahrir Square, to the new Egyptian Society Museum.

With unprecedented security, Egypt's national treasures will receive what is known as the "Pharaonic Golden Parade," an ancient Egyptian ceremony in which the embalmed remains of the ruler were transferred for burial.

The mummies will be transferred in the order in which the pharaohs ruled, from Scannara Tha II, who ruled until 1555 BC to Ramesses II, whose reign lasted until 1213 BC.

Due to the significant drop in morbidity data in Corona it was decided to hold the ceremony with the participation of an audience and thousands of residents of the capital are expected to attend the gala procession.

While the mummies have been preserved for thousands of years thanks to the embalming techniques of the ancient Egyptians, the mummies will pass through special display cabinets to which nitrogen will be injected, and the roads to which they will be transferred will be re-paved to prevent bumps.

"The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities is doing its best to ensure that the mummies arrive at their new home in a stable, preserved condition and that they are displayed in an arcalim-controlled environment," Salima Ikram, a professor of Egyptology at the American University in Cairo, told local media.

The royal mummies were discovered between 1881 and 1898 in two deposits of antiquities near the swords of the city of Thebes, the ancient capital of Egypt, located near the modern city of Luxor.
