The Myanmar army last night disabled Internet access for most of the country's citizens, after weeks of night shifts and slow speeds.
The cellular and wireless networks that pass through fiber optics, which are a cheap alternative for the country's poor citizens, remained blocked even today (Saturday), in another step to suppress the protest against the coup.
According to local media, security force violence against protesters continued this morning with at least two dead.
Human rights groups have already counted at least 550 deaths among protesters since Feb. 1, 46 of them children.
2,751 people were arrested or tried.

At the same time, the authorities issued arrest warrants for 18 celebrities, including influencers on social media and two journalists, under the pretext of a law against the distribution of content designed to make a member of the security forces rebel or disregard their duty.
The penalty for the offense may be up to three years in prison.
Actress Paing Piu Tu, who has regularly frequented the protest in the big city of Yangon in recent weeks, said the threats would not stop her from continuing to arrive.
"Whether or not an order can be issued, as long as I am alive I will oppose the military dictatorship that acts in bullying and kills people. The revolution must continue," she wrote on Facebook.
