Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif called on his French counterpart, Jean-Yves Le Drian, to take a constructive stance in the upcoming talks on the nuclear deal in Vienna and not to abide by the illegal sanctions imposed by the United States on Iran.
Zarif said on his Twitter account: “I asked Le Drian during a phone call today to show a constructive stance towards the nuclear agreement next Tuesday in Vienna ... and I urge France to respect its obligations under this agreement and not to abide by the illegal embargo imposed by the United States.”
For his part, the French Foreign Minister declared that his country welcomed the resumption of talks on the nuclear agreement in Vienna and stressed the constructive role played by the European troika, "France, Britain and Germany" in resuming such talks and preserving the nuclear agreement.
Yesterday, Iran agreed with the "four plus one" group to hold new talks in Vienna next Tuesday to discuss developments related to the nuclear agreement and ensure its full implementation, and affirmed its refusal to conduct any direct negotiations with Washington before returning to the agreement fully and lifting the unilateral sanctions imposed on Iran.
