AstraZeneca's vaccine, with its reputation tarnished by the few cases of serious thrombosis publicized in recent weeks, arouses the mistrust of some French people.
These are 550 doses of the serum that did not find a taker in Calais on Saturday April 3, reports France Bleu.
The vaccination center installed at the Gambetta Forum had 750 doses of the vaccine produced by the Swedish-British group, and yet only 200 people out of the 300 who had made an appointment showed up.

Several hundred doses were therefore left on the arms of the nursing staff, forcing the center to close its doors earlier than expected.
At the same time, the 560 doses of the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine did not experience the same disenchantment;
all have been administered.
Nathalie Bouchart, the LR mayor of Calais, establishes a direct link with the cases of blood clots (called thromboses) which the United Kingdom reported on Saturday.
“S
ince the announcement of the seven deaths in the United Kingdom linked to this vaccine, the cancellations of appointments have multiplied

All the health professionals that I work with assure that this vaccine is not dangerous.

The elected official is however worried about a decrease in vaccine deliveries this weekend, while the hospital's intensive care unit is saturated: “
We have been trying to vaccinate as much as possible since the end of February.
12,000 people have already received an injection at the Gambetta center.
