Chimpanzee researcher: "In the jungle we wear masks"

Tobias Deschner spends a lot of time in the African jungle to watch chimpanzees. Here he tells what you can learn from excrement samples and whether great apes have their own cultures.

Tobias Deschner, 53, conducts research at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology - and in the jungle.

He has been observing chimpanzees in their habitat for 23 years.
