Last year everything had to be canceled - but this year the Spatzennest children are hoping to hunt for Easter eggs in the garden.

The anticipation is great.

Garching

- yellow self-made chicks and colorful tulips hang from the ceiling, on the wall there are a dozen green Easter nests with brown Easter bunnies peeping out.

The rooms of the tiger group of the kindergarten Spatzennest in Garching have been festively decorated by the 20 kindergarten children in the past few weeks.

The joy of Easter is great among educators and children after the celebration last year was canceled due to the pandemic.

Easter egg hunt in kindergarten

“I'm really looking forward to the Easter egg hunt in kindergarten,” says six-year-old Melina.

“I would really like to see the Easter Bunny.” She is holding two pictures in her hand.

All the children in the tiger group were allowed to draw a picture for the Easter bunny with colored pencils - just as they imagine it.

Melina's bunny looks like this: “Big, brown and with blue eyes.” Her friend Nadja (6) imagines the Easter bunny to be “skin-colored with a brown tail”.

She is particularly pleased that this time Easter can also take place in kindergarten and not just at home.

"Last year I was a little sad," says the six-year-old.

Pictures on the fence of the kindergarten

But the educators had thought a lot so that the children could enjoy beautiful Easter days despite the pandemic.

“Last year we sent them an envelope with Easter stories, coloring pictures and a few sweets,” says kindergarten teacher Zarah Huber.

The children then hung the pictures they painted on the fence of the kindergarten.

Hop through the garden in a rabbit suit

Huber and her colleagues came up with something very special for this Easter celebration.

"We bought a rabbit costume and I'll hop through the garden with it," says the teacher and laughs.

In addition, a breakfast with cress bread and boiled eggs is on the program of the tiger group.

In the circle of chairs, children say Easter rhyme

Sitting in a circle of chairs, the kindergarten children recite an Easter rhyme.

With their fingers they represent the ears of a rabbit and laugh.

“It's so nice that the children are back,” says Huber.

“You can tell that there was a lack of social contacts.” Painting, handicrafts or playing like in kindergarten is simply not possible at home.

"Most parents are in the home office and have to concentrate on their work." The children are also happy to be able to meet their friends again every day.

“It was a bit boring at home,” says six-year-old Melina.

But whether daycare centers in the district are allowed to open after Easter depends on the 7-day incidence.

If it is over 100 for three days in a row, everything is closed again.
