As Israel prepares for the next phase of the vaccination campaign, worldwide donations to weak countries that have not achieved them are increasing.

China, the United States, India and the United Arab Emirates are far from vaccinating the entire population, but understand that the plague is global and it is time to help. An Israeli contribution to the Palestinians will catch three birds with one stone.

While Israel has emerged from the corona in almost every aspect, the world is still groaning under the plague.

Not only weak states but also powers are still under rigid closures.

Nevertheless, more and more countries have increased in recent weeks the volume of vaccine donations they make to other countries.

The donors are doing so for humanitarian reasons, following calls from the World Organization and the UN Secretary-General, and due to the understanding that the epidemic is global.

After all, even in completely vaccinated countries, life will not return to its full course, as long as the whole world is not vaccinated.

So the donation is also in the interest of the donors.

Therefore, China, Russia, the United States, India, and the United Arab Emirates have each sold or donated many millions of vaccines to countries around the world. They did so while vaccinating only a small minority of their own populations. Five percent of the vaccines they have purchased will be donated to weak countries, even though the corona is still killing those countries. In the world, calls are made to donate vaccines to others, Israel thinks only of itself, prepares for the next round of vaccinations or is preparing to vaccinate the younger generation - two moves whose urgency is controversial.

At the National Security Headquarters, staff work was prepared to distribute the surplus vaccines to various countries in the world, but a dispute with Defense Minister Bnei Gantz stopped the operation.

Now, after the election, when our health is good without the evil eye, when the world is desperate for vaccines and we have surpluses, is it not time to open our hearts and refrigerators and donate a significant quota to others?

Moreover, in order to gain three birds with one stone, political, humanitarian and health, it is required that Israel donate a considerable amount of vaccines to our Palestinian neighbors.

Yes, the Palestinians, the ones we are used to hating on a daily basis.

The Palestinian Authority, like many countries in the world, has failed to take care of its people.

We must not, of course, vaccinate the Palestinians more than the Rwandans, for example.

But if we do that, we will add positive points to ourselves in the world, relieve the current and future political pressures, contribute a little more to the state of health within us, and also simply do a good deed.

Tikkun Olam is, after all, the basic values of Judaism, and here is a golden opportunity to apply it.

So just before Israel throws vaccines in the trash, orders the next quota or starts vaccinating the young, a request is made to the captains of the system: Give your opinion to the world and our connection with it.

This consideration should also affect Israel's next vaccine pulse.
