Vjosa Osmani, the most popular politician in Kosovo, was elected president on Sunday by the deputies, consecrating the arrival at the helm of a political class of a new generation determined to put an end to corruption.

The 38-year-old lawyer obtained 71 votes out of 82 deputies present, more than the necessary quorum, according to the official count.

I note that the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo has elected Ms. Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu as President of the Republic,
” said Parliament Speaker Glauk Konjufca.
