The Minister of Interior and Municipalities in the Lebanese caretaker government, Brigadier General Mohamed Fahmy, has warned against preparing terrorist cells to carry out criminal acts in Lebanon to undermine the security therein.
Fahmy said during a televised interview today that some cells associated with terrorism are preparing to act that violates Lebanese security, and these cells have previously tried to enter northern Lebanon, stressing that the security forces and the Lebanese army are the basis for the state-building process.
Fahmy added that groups took advantage of the protests to enter the Serail in Tripoli and loot it, and what was planned happened, indicating that the time is not appropriate to reveal the results of the investigations into the incident.
