Roi Shposhnik, a 41-year-old former Israeli living in Europe, admitted tonight (Sunday) that he offered assistance to Prince Jordan Hamza bin Hussein and his wife Basma Benny Ahmed following the storm in the kingdom due to thwarting the coup attempt against King Abdullah.

However, Pushnik denied that he had served in the institution - following a report that a former Israeli intelligence agency man contacted the prince's wife and offered to arrange a plane to evacuate her and her family from the kingdom.

"Roy Shposhnik is a close personal friend of Prince Hamza," he said.

"Over the weekend, Prince Hamza told Roi about what was happening in the kingdom and Mr. Pushnik offered the prince to send his wife and children to stay at his house."

It was further stated that "Mr. Shposhnik has no knowledge related to the events mentioned in Jordan, related parties or any other personal information.

Shposhnik was previously a political activist in the Kadima party and served as Uriel Reichman's aide during the 2006 election campaign. Afterwards, he served as Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's adviser on the Negev and the Galilee.

He previously worked for an American security services company owned by shadow man Eric Prince.

He then set up his own company that provided logistics services to the United States government and other governments around the world.

In this context, he also provided services to Prince's company when it dealt with the training of Iraqi soldiers in Jordan.

During one of his visits to Jordan, a mutual friend met him and Prince Hamza.

The relationship became close personal friendships including between the families.

On Saturday morning, Prince Hamza sent a message to Shpushnik informing him of what was happening.

Pushnik contacted the prince's wife and offered to send a plane to take her and her children to Germany to stay at his home until the rage passed.

Immediately afterwards, the connection between him and the prince and his wife was severed when the Jordanian security forces cut off their access to the media or the Internet.

The Jordanian government has accused close associates of the former regent of having contacts with "foreign elements" in order to carry out a coup attempt against King Abdullah.

The press conference convened today by Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safdi is intended to respond to Prince Hamza's version, who claimed in a video his lawyer posted to the BBC yesterday that his arrest was part of an attempt to silence palace critics and his criticism of Jordanian government corruption.

In the video, the former regent confirmed that he is indeed under house arrest.

The prince denied that he acted improperly or was involved in any connection against the authorities.

"I received a visit from the commander - in - chief of the Jordanian Armed Forces," Hamza said in the video, in which he spoke in English.

"He informed me that I was not allowed to go out, communicate with people or meet with them because in the meetings I was present at - or on the social media news related to the visits I made - there was criticism towards the government or the king."

Queen Nur, who was Hussein's fourth wife and nurtured her son Hamza as the next king after Abdullah, expressed support for him.

The Queen said she "prays that truth and justice will prevail for all the innocent victims of this malicious slander."
