The Criminal Security Branch in Deir Ezzor arrested four people who stole electrical cables and phone lines.
The Ministry of the Interior stated in a statement, which SANA received today: Through follow-up, investigation and gathering of information, the members of the Criminal Security Branch in Deir Ezzor were able to arrest two people, and through their confessions, they found out that they had stolen five underground inspection rooms belonging to the post office in addition to the theft of cables connected inside them, taking advantage of interruptions. The electrical current, adding that they confessed to stealing the electricity cable in Al-Thawra neighborhood and the pipes of air conditioners from the streets, in addition to stealing batteries from cars.
The ministry indicated that the thefts were carried out jointly with two people in hiding, and that they were burning cables to extract copper wires from them and sell them.
The Ministry stated that one of the night patrols of the Criminal Security Branch arrested two people while they stole an electrical transformer in the Al-Tahtouh neighborhood, pointing out that the patrol confiscated the cables and handed them over to the electricity company in the first place.
The ministry confirmed that searches are still ongoing for the disappeared, while those arrested will be duly brought to court.
