The Tunisian health authorities have warned of the dangerous situation the country faces due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus.
A Tunisian news agency quoted the Scientific Committee to Combat Coronavirus in Tunisia as saying in a statement that "there is a noticeable increase in the cases discovered and the number of deaths rising again," describing the epidemiological situation in Tunisia as dangerous.
For her part, the director of the Tunisian National Observatory of New and Emerging Diseases, Nassaf Ben Alia, indicated that new strains of the virus had entered and the rapid development of their spread inside the country, which would cause the rapid spread of dangerous cases and more deaths, as was observed in European countries.
The Tunisian health official stressed the need to adopt a faster pace of the vaccination process against the virus and follow precautionary measures to confront the epidemic, noting that the country suffers from difficulties in implementing border health control measures and following up on recommendations for immediate isolation, viral surveillance, and monitoring the spread of strains.
And the Tunisian Ministry of Health announced the registration of 1709 new infections and 34 deaths from the Corona virus during the past twenty-four hours.
