Cultural events are not possible in times of pandemic, right?

The Kulturverein Isar-Loisach (KIL) proves the opposite: with live streams, the cultural workers from the ambush in Gelting have been delighting a large audience for a year.

Every beginning was difficult.

Because the culture stage ambush had to be closed to the public in spring 2020 due to corona, the Kulturverein Isar-Loisach (KIL) dared an experiment: With the help of cameraman Thorsten Thane and the sound engineer Hendrik Noeller as well as the support of many committed club members, the reading by the psychotherapist succeeded and author Dr.

Pablo Hagemeyer can be streamed live on a dedicated YouTube channel on the Internet.

At the premiere it turned out that the cultural stage does not at all meet the technical requirements for the realization of such projects.

Only because the IT company Infoteq, based in the same building, had a high-performance cable laid in the basement stage, could the first live stream recordings be saved.

The equipment grew with the challenges - meanwhile it is "better than in a television studio"

In the meantime, these initial difficulties have almost been forgotten.

There are new connections, an expanded stage and higher quality equipment.

"It's even better here than in a television studio," stated Peter Schneider.

The Munich musician performed several times with his band The Stimulators under these special conditions.

On Maundy Thursday he was a guest at the Kulturbühne together with the guitarist Titus Vollmer as well as sponsors, helpers and the Third Mayor of Geretsried, Gerhard Meinl.

KIL member Daniela Satzinger had previously carried out a corona rapid test on every visitor.

Hope is the certainty that something has meaning, regardless of how it turns out "

Gerhard Meinl quoted the philosopher Ernst Bloch

After Schneider and Vollmer opened the unusual press conference with guitar music, Meinl praised the cultural association for its stamina and quoted the German philosopher Ernst Bloch (1885-1977): “Hope is the certainty that something makes sense, regardless of how it ends. "

Livestreams in numbers

On the occasion of the one-year anniversary of the livestream, the Kulturverein Isar-Loisach (KIL) had a black T-shirt printed with the ambush culture stage logo and several numbers.

KIL cameraman Thorsten Thane explained their importance at the press conference on Maundy Thursday.

The 62 concerts, readings, panel discussions and cabaret events to date have been viewed

a total of 81,843 times on the Internet

.

678 users subscribed to the cultural association's YouTube channel.

According to Thane, many of them also left

donations of 5 to 1500 euros each

City promotes engagement financially

Ambush owner Wolf Steinberger emphasized that there is hardly any money to be made with culture anyway.

“From an economic point of view, buying the Kulturbühne was definitely the worst decision of my life.

But: “I have already experienced many great cultural moments here.

In this context, KIL chairwoman Assunta Tammelleo thanked the city of Geretsried for the financial support that had sponsored the cultural association with 16,000 euros last year.

By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our new, regular Wolfratshausen-Geretsried newsletter.

The two sound engineers Hendrik Noeller and Marius Hammerschmied underlined that this considerable sum is well invested.

Both of them have known the ambush since their teenage years.

"We still have a few surprises in store for the next livestream events," promised Hammerschmied.

The cultural association is not only involved in ambushes during the corona pandemic: At the Schwankl-Eck in Wolfratshausen, the association has opened a test room together with other volunteers - over 2000 swabs have already been taken there.
