RN activist violently assaulted while distributing leaflets

Benoît Glotin was operated on for an open ankle fracture. An investigation for "violence in meetings", is carried out by the police officers of Saint-Nazaire.


Two activists from the National Rally (RN) were attacked and assaulted on Sunday, April 4 in the morning while they were distributing leaflets at the Halles de Saint-Nazaire, reports

France Bleu.

Five individuals, probably belonging to the anti-fascist movement, initially called on the two activists to leave the place before insulting them and then beating them.

One of the two RN activists, 49, was severely beaten while on the ground, and threatened with death,

former city councilor Gauthier Bouchet, a candidate for the election

Benoit Glotin, who was evacuated to Saint-Nazaire hospital by firefighters, suffers from an open ankle fracture.

He should leave the hospital on Monday and file a complaint at the Saint-Nazaire police station, as Gauthier Bouchet has already done.

"Cowardice and violence are the signatures of the far left ..."

, denounced the latter on Twitter.

An investigation for "violence in meetings" was opened.
