The Turkish regime authorities have arrested 22 women members of an association supporting women's rights in the city of Diyarbakir, southeastern Turkey, for their alleged links to “terrorism”.
The German News Agency quoted Adalat Kaya, head of the Rosa Association for Turkish Women's Rights, as saying today that the security authorities raided the association’s headquarters, searched it, and arrested 22 women, claiming the association’s relationship with terrorism.
Kaya added that the association helps support women victims of violence.
It is noteworthy that the Turkish regime announced on the 20 of last March its unilateral withdrawal from the European Council Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence despite repeated calls from the United Nations and the European Union for Recep Tayyip Erdogan's regime to reverse the decision to withdraw from the Istanbul Convention on the Rights of Women and protect them from Violence.
