At about 11 am today (5th), a 22-year-old young man jumped from the Ap Lei Chau Bridge in Aberdeen to the center of the sea. Fortunately, a nearby sampan saw this. Work with other boatmen to rescue the victim.

According to reports, the male victim was once in a coma and was rushed to Queen Mary Hospital for emergency treatment and has recovered soberness.

The police classified the case as an attempted suicide to follow up.

The female sampan who first rushed to the scene to save her lives was named Ma, and her neighbours called her "sister-in-law."

My sister-in-law revealed that when she saw the victim struggling in the water after jumping into the sea, she immediately threw the lifejacket to the center of the sea, "I saw Qu jumped down, and Tong Zhong knows to climb (paddling), so I pulled a lifejacket and threw it down. As soon as she knows how to hold her back, I will throw another rope to try her.” The sister-in-law also said that all the nearby sighting ships came to assist, and everyone worked together to pull the victim onto the sampan, waiting for the fire to come and rescue her. She said with a smile, "It's better to save a life than eat for three years!" The sister-in-law who has been driving a sampan for more than 40 years said that this is not the first time a person who fell into the sea has been rescued. About 2 to 3 years ago, he also rescued a person who fell into the sea. The person said, "Two years earlier, he was a man again. At noon, he jumped off at (Ap Lei Chau Bridge). Lucky won't die, but someone rescued him again!"

According to the police, the 22-year-old man who fell into the sea with the surname Yu was rescued by the crew of a nearby vessel. The ambulance received the report. The victim was awakened and sent to Queen Mary Hospital for treatment.

The police did not seize the suicide note at the scene and are investigating the cause of his fall into the sea.
