The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad, discussed during a phone call today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Vladimir Macki, the bilateral relations between the two countries in light of the common challenges facing them and the need to redouble efforts to strengthen these relations and advance them in order to achieve the aspirations of the two friendly peoples.

Minister Al-Miqdad affirmed that Syria stood by the leadership, government and people of Belarus and supported the measures taken by President Alexander Lukashenko that would confront the attempts of foreign interference in its internal affairs, expressing his condemnation of the unilateral coercive measures targeting Belarus, Syria and other countries, pointing out that these measures have become an established policy. Some western countries are trying to undermine the will of the people and impose their agendas on them.

Minister Al-Miqdad expressed Syria's thanks to Belarus for the assistance it provides to the Syrian people, stressing its importance in supporting the steadfastness of the Syrians in facing the repercussions of the terrorist war imposed on them, including economic terrorism represented by the unilateral coercive measures imposed by Western countries on the Syrian people.

For his part, the Belarusian minister stressed his country's firm commitment to stand by Syria, under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad, in the face of the terrorist war imposed on it and the attempts of external interference in its internal affairs, stressing Belarus’s adherence to respecting Syria’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.

Minister Mackie renewed the demand to lift the coercive economic measures imposed on the Syrian people, pointing to the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two sides in various forums and international forums to confront Western attacks aimed at undermining their sovereignty and spreading lies aimed at distorting the facts related to the situations in them.

The Belarusian minister expressed his country's deep appreciation for Syria's stance in support of Belarus in the face of external attempts to interfere in its internal affairs, stressing that the Belarusian people highly appreciate the Syrians' standing by their side, noting the importance of strengthening and coordinating efforts between the two countries in various fields to strengthen the elements of victory over the plans aimed at spreading chaos and instability And undermining the sovereignty of states and the independence of their decisions.

The two ministers Al-Miqdad and Maki agreed to continue communication between them and support the efforts of the Syrian and Belarusian governments to follow up the implementation of the agreements signed between the two countries and the success of the work of the Syrian-Belarusian Joint Economic Committee, which will hold its meetings soon.
