More than forty women benefiting from the food processing units in Homs displayed their products today in the officers' club hall during the exhibition organized by the Chamber of Agriculture and the Directorate of Agriculture within the "Home Garden Project".

The Director of Agriculture, Eng. For his part, the head of the Chamber of Agriculture, Ahmed Kasir Al-Ali, explained that the chamber, in cooperation with the World Food Organization and under the supervision of the Agriculture Directorate, distributed 44 manufacturing units at the governorate level and the market will soon be expanded to always provide consumers with high-quality materials at reduced prices, as the role of the mediator is canceled through the market in a way. In turn, the coordinator of the home garden project in Homs, Ayman Akkari, explained that new units will participate in the exhibition and the exhibits include cheese, milk, jams and dried sweets at cheaper prices than the market and of high quality, with the aim of directing the consumer's compass to know the manufacturing units in the villages, their productivity and quality.

Engineer Mona Mahfoud, Head of the Rural Development Department at the Directorate of Agriculture indicated that the exhibition will continue for two days and includes a wide variety of materials of interest to the family, while Suhair Raslan, responsible for the rural women products market in the Directorate of Agriculture, indicated the great turnout of the exhibition to market multiple products from different Homs countryside such as sour grapes, vinegar and fig Dried raisins, pomegranate molasses and thyme.

While the unit contributed to improving the income of Mrs. Rene Dahbish from the Al-Mukhram manufacturing unit, who participated in the exhibition with products from cheese, dairy and pickles, as she acquired the manufacturing unit about two years ago and works with it with four other women, while Mayada Othman from the large house manufacturing unit, which manufactures its products from the existing crops. Within her village, she showed that the unit improved her income and the income of the families she works with.

In turn, a number of visitors to the exhibition expressed the quality and diversity of the existing materials, pointing to the need for a permanent market for rural women’s products.
