With the participation of 33 male and female students who qualified from the final qualifiers of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad, today at the Faculty of Informatics Engineering at Damascus University, the tests for selecting the national teams that will represent Syria in the 2021 World Olympiad competitions in the field of informatics have been completed.
These tests, according to the statement of Nabug Yassin, Director of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad at the Excellence and Creativity Authority of SANA, come within the new mechanisms adopted by the Commission for the current season to raise students ’knowledge level and train them at the high level of exams, especially as they include two rounds of five hours each, which requires a high ability to focus And develop a strategy to answer the time and difficulty of the issues.
Accordingly, two teams (primary and reserve) will be selected to represent Syria in the International Olympiad in Informatics, to be held in Singapore next summer.
Selection tests for the specializations (mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology) were held at the Ebla Hotel and the Umayyad Conference Palace in Damascus during the period between the 9th and 12th of last March, with the participation of 155 students who qualified from the final qualifiers of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad.
