Corona in Bavaria: Tighter measures in Munich are being withdrawn
Update from April 5, 10:51 a.m.:
The stricter corona rules that have only been in force since Easter Sunday will be relaxed again in Munich from Wednesday.
After the state capital exceeded the critical limit of 100 for three days in a row, the "emergency brake" came into force on Sunday.
But because the seven-day incidence was again below 100 from Holy Saturday to Easter Monday, the tightened measures will be withdrawn from Wednesday, according to the city.
The night curfew will then no longer apply, and shops, museums and the zoo will be allowed to reopen.
According to the RKI, the incidence was 96.1 on Monday and 94.5 on Easter Sunday.
The RKI points out that the number of infections on public holidays may be reported with a delay by the health authorities and that fewer people may also be tested.
New infections have been increasing significantly across Bavaria for some time.
A large part of the counties and urban districts in the Free State has exceeded the incidence value of 100.
The front runner on Monday was the city of Hof with 469.2 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week.
Munich again below the limit: "Emergency brake" will soon be off the table - Bayerischer Landkreis is Germany's Corona hotspot
First report from April 5, 7.17 a.m
.: Munich - sigh of relief in the state capital!
On the third day in a row, Munich is below the important limit of 100. On Easter Monday, the Robert Koch Institute * (RKI) reported a seven-day incidence of 96.1.
Already yesterday, the city made it clear on Twitter what that means: "That means in concrete terms: If the RKI, after yesterday and today, also reports a 7-day incidence for Munich on Easter Monday tomorrow that does not exceed 100, the ' Emergency brake 'regulations only apply until next Tuesday, midnight. "
Munich falls under the important corona limit value - but RKI warns
But the RKI warns that the numbers should be treated with caution: “Around the Easter holidays, it should be noted when interpreting the number of cases that, on the one hand, fewer people visit a doctor, which means that fewer samples are taken and fewer laboratory tests are carried out.
This means that fewer pathogens are reported to the responsible health authorities.
On the other hand, it may be that not all health authorities and responsible state authorities transmit to the RKI every day. "
On Sunday, the emergency brake with stricter rules - including a nocturnal exit restriction - came into force in Munich.
The reason was that the seven-day incidence was over 100 for three consecutive days.
You can find an overview of the rules here. *
