Berlin - To protect against Corona, there are rules when entering Germany.

As

reported by

tageschau.de

, the federal police found 3753 violations at German airports.

Hundreds of vacationers were allowed on board aircraft, although they could not show a negative corona test.

The Federal Police also repeatedly found fake tests on travelers.

Corona in Germany: Airlines let passengers on board without a test

According

to the

tageschau.de

research,

airlines did not

adhere to the

ban on transport from states classified as virus variant areas and high incidence areas, such as Egypt, Brazil, Mexico, Tanzania and South Africa.

Entry here is only possible in exceptional cases.

And if so, air passengers from these countries would have to be able to show a negative corona test that is not older than 48 hours.

Between the end of January and the end of February, according to the report, 668 people landed at a German airport without a test, even though they flew in from an area with a high incidence.

273 people without a test came to Germany by plane from countries with virus mutations.

The Federal Police chief announced that different airlines were noticed when the test controls were violated.

For example airlines from the USA, Great Britain, Portugal, the Arabian Peninsula - but also from Germany.

Entry registration is often not or insufficiently filled out

There are also violations when entering by other means of transport.

According to

tagesschau.de,

deficiencies in digital entry registrations

are particularly common

.

In 110,280 cases, travelers either did not register or filled them in completely or incorrectly.

At the border with the Czech Republic and Tyrol (Austria), the federal police checked over 830,000 people entering the country (mid-February to the end of March).

75,000 travelers did not have a digital entry registration with them, and 32,000 did not have the corona test.

70,000 people were turned away at the border.

Compulsory corona test when entering by plane is in force

Anyone entering Germany by plane must show a negative corona test before departure.

This mandatory test applies regardless of the corona situation in the country of departure.

The test must be a maximum of 48 hours old upon entry.

The airline is not allowed to take passengers with them if they do not submit a negative test.

Otherwise there is a risk of a fine that can amount to up to 25,000 euros for the airlines, as Federal Police President Dieter Romann emphasized at the joint press conference with Federal Minister of the Interior Horst Seehofer.

This change to the coronavirus entry regulation has been in force since March 30, 2021 and is initially to apply until May 12.

Entry rules after a stay in a so-called high-risk area have been in effect since the end of January.

Anyone entering Germany by car, bus, train or ship must be able to show a negative corona test.

Coronavirus entry regulation to Germany

  • Entry by plane: negative test evidence within 48 hours before departure.

  • Entry from risk areas by plane, bus, train, car or ship: obligation to test and provide evidence within 48 hours.

After a stay in a risk area, travelers must also fill out a digital entry form.

  • Entry from high-risk areas: obligation to provide proof before departure and upon entry.

According to the federal government, areas in which mutations of the coronavirus have occurred or with a particularly high incidence are among the so-called high-risk areas.
