US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin is expected to visit Israel next week, senior Israeli officials told Walla !.
The Pentagon and the Office of the Secretary of Defense declined to comment, but did not deny it.
This is the first visit by a senior member of the Biden administration to Israel since the new president took office in January.
Austin is expected to meet with Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Bnei Gantz.
The two will discuss with him the Iranian nuclear program, Iranian activity in the region and the situation in Syria and Lebanon.
Another issue that is expected to be discussed is the security understandings between Israel and the United States on preserving the IDF's qualitative advantage in the region.

The visit comes at a time when the US administration is shifting most of its attention from the Middle East to China and Russia.
The minister comes amid an escalation in the naval conflict between Israel and Iran, which in recent weeks has become overt.
According to Western media reports, Israel has been attacking Iranian cargo ships and tankers in the Red Sea and the Mediterranean since 2019 with the aim of thwarting arms smuggling to Hezbollah and sabotaging oil shipments to Syria.
The ships were attacked in both the Red Sea and the Mediterranean.
In response, the Iranians have in recent weeks attacked two ships owned by Israeli businessmen.
The attacks did not cause any damage or casualties, but signaled to Israel that it too could be harmed in the naval conflict.
Today, the ship Saviz, which belongs to the Revolutionary Guards, was attacked while sailing off the coast of Yemen in the Red Sea - about 2,000 kilometers off the coast of Israel.
The ship served as a floating operations room for the Iranians to aid the Houthi rebels in the war in Yemen.
