History in the Arab world: Sudan, which has been at the forefront of the Arab boycott against Israel for years, today (Tuesday) repealed the oldest legislation in the country that prohibits any kind of economic relations with Israel, Israeli products or citizens of the State of Israel.

According to a report on the Al-Arabiya news network, the cabinet in the country has made the decision to repeal the law and its practical significance will take effect in the coming months.

The boycott law was enacted in 1958 and prohibited any contact with Israeli bodies, with citizens residing in Israel or with the purchase of goods and services from Israeli companies.

The law also included a boycott of companies that worked for the State of Israel and even banned the entry of goods that passed through Israeli ports or were repackaged in its territory.

The law set a precedent for the Khartoum conference, which took place in 1967, in which the members of the Arab League participated and where the "three nations" were adopted, not for peace with Israel, not for recognition of Israel and not for negotiations with it.
