With the participation of about 15 countries ... a virtual ministerial conference on housing was held today via the electronic platform “Zoom” in the Iranian city of Isfahan under the title “Knowledge and creativity for developing world cities”.
The conference aims to strengthen international relations in the field of housing in cooperation with the United Nations Program to achieve the 2030 Agenda for socially and environmentally sustainable development and secure adequate housing.
In a speech during the conference, the Minister of Public Works and Housing, Eng. Suhail Abdul Latif, indicated that the Syrian government is constantly seeking innovative solutions to develop its sectoral and spatial policies in a manner that responds to the changes, pointing to the launch of the National Housing Strategy despite the challenges of the terrorist war, unilateral coercive Western economic measures, the unjust blockade, and '' COVID-19 ″.
Minister Abdul Latif stressed the necessity of seeking to create innovative solutions with the aim of improving the reality of current and future cities and advancing them economically and socially, stressing the importance of re-evaluating the foundations of urban planning, reviewing legislation related to planning and developing housing policies that respond to the changes in an effective manner and to reflect positively on cities and peoples.
He pointed to the importance of cooperation between governments, benefiting from data and creative solutions, sharing innovations and technologies, supporting experimental projects and creative solutions in them, supporting data acquisition techniques in developing countries, and working to develop joint cooperation mechanisms by forming a technical committee to activate and support work at the procedural level in addition to submitting proposals and continuous monitoring of ideas.
