"Today, the president assigned me the task of forming a government, thanks to more than a million Likud voters who once again established the party's status as the largest in Israel, and hundreds of thousands of voters from other parties who support us," Netanyahu said.
Netanyahu speaks after receiving the mandate from President Reuven (Ruby) Rivlin, and a short time after the inauguration of the Knesset.
"I will make every effort to form a government - not a government of paralysis, but a government of action. To do that, the government must be united and in order to form it we must first stop the boycotts. I will be the prime minister of everyone, Arabs, Bedouins, Jews.
"What motivates me is first of all the historical mission and securing the future of the State of Israel. The danger of the epidemic has not yet passed - we do not know what the vaccines are. The vaccine companies' estimates are between six months and a year, so we must bring tens of thousands more."
