This Tuesday afternoon, Clarence Livio stuck in the streets of Franconville (Val-d'Oise) no less than 200 posters made by him, in the company of ten friends.

It is here that the young man had the funeral urn of his father, Jean, stolen.

A theft which is akin to kidnapping, according to a 2008 law, and punishable by one to two years' imprisonment and a fine of 15,000 to 30,000 euros.

It is around 6 p.m. this Sunday, when this inhabitant of Sannois (Val-d'Oise), returning from Belgium for professional reasons, stops for a few moments at the mother of a friend, in Franconville, rue du Docteur -Ginger.

His car is parked in front of the gate of the house located in a dead end, hazard lights on.

When he comes out half an hour later, Clarence Livio realizes that the trunk of the SUV has been opened.

The thieves stole two pieces of luggage full of clothes, a computer bag containing his PC and his identity papers, but above all… his father's funeral urn.

"I wanted to pay tribute to him"

Indeed, the young man was to take off Monday for Guadeloupe for a professional trip.

A stay during which he had to bring the funeral urn of his father, who died on April 17 at the age of 69 from Covid-19, to the Mondor hospital in Créteil (Val-de-Marne).

“In the context, we couldn't say goodbye to him, or even see him,” he explains.

I had kept the ashes with me to hope to do something on the anniversary date.

"The objective is to arrest as many people as possible around the thieves so that it comes back to their ears," he explains.

"It is beyond me", reacted in particular on Instagram the athletics champion Antoinette Nana Djimou.

It offers a reward of 1500 euros

A surge of support was thus boosted around the former amateur basketball player who played in several clubs in the department.

“There was a real chain of solidarity,” says the latter.

I got calls from people I didn't know who wanted to help me.

Clarence Livio also offered a reward of 1,500 euros for bringing him one back.

“When we talked about it, it was a shock, explains Cyril, a childhood friend who came to help hang up the posters.
