Tehran-SANA

The Secretary of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council, Ali Shamkhani, announced today his country's refusal to enter into any negotiations outside the framework of the nuclear agreement and in any circumstances, calling again for the US embargo to be lifted.

Fars News Agency quoted Shamkhani as saying in response to the statements of the US Special Envoy for Iran Affairs Robert Malley that Washington will seek a longer agreement with Iran after returning to the nuclear agreement “whether Europe has the will or the ability to persuade the United States to lift all the embargoes

At once, and by returning to its obligations or not, there will be no possibility for Iran to enter negotiations outside the framework of the nuclear agreement, whatever the circumstances.

Earlier in the day, the Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister for Political Affairs and head of the Iranian delegation to the Vienna meeting, Abbas Araghchi, confirmed that the lifting of the US embargo is a necessary step to revive the nuclear deal.

In May 2018, former US President Donald Trump announced his country's unilateral withdrawal from the nuclear agreement between Iran and the "five plus one" group, and the reinstatement of sanctions against Tehran in defiance of the will of the international community and a violation of international resolutions in this regard.
