Farewell to the auxiliary company: The IDF will convert the companies that assist the infantry and armored companies to "assault exposure" companies with advanced collection and attack capabilities, which have so far been tested in the multidimensional unit alone.
The conversion is expected to be completed by the end of 2021, when at the same time, the IDF will also upgrade the RPF in order to allow faster firing of fire circles.
For the purpose of the change, an extensive training course on the subject is being held today (Tuesday) and tomorrow at Tze'elim, under the heading "Exposing an Assault."
Chief Infantry and Paratroopers Officer, Brigadier General Dan Goldfuss, who is leading the training and change, told Israel Today yesterday: "This is not another conference, this is really change. We are changing our organization in its ability to bring lethality to the edge, structure and organization, "The end will know how to benefit from the entire IDF. The entire General Staff will be with Shlomi MM. Now we are in mass production of the means and capabilities," he said. As part of the change, by the end of 2021, all companies assisting the IDF will be converted into "assault exposure" companies, which will consist of several teams. Another pilot. Another team in the new company will be the "Horizontal Team", which is a smart collection team designed to perform unique collection operations that allow exposure and attack of the enemy using technological capabilities some of which are classified. A third team will be an upgraded mortar team, which will also operate the recently exposed "Steel Sting" mortar. The first "assault exposure" company was established about eight months ago in the Paratroopers Brigade, under the command of Colonel Yuval Gaz, and proved its advantages on the battlefield.
In addition to the establishment of the assault exposure company, the IDF is changing the structure of the RPF in order to close firing fire circles more quickly, and turning it into an expanded IDF with new officials.
Thus, instead of a liaison only, the lieutenant colonel will have an operations fighter who is responsible for the state of our forces, an attack fighter who will be responsible for most of the firearms (except fighter jets and unmanned aerial vehicles), and a fighter whose job will be to practice intelligence. Dedicated and unique in order to enable them to transfer the relevant information to the RPF.
All of these are joined by a "Storm Team" battalion, which has unique positions through which the IDF will reduce the bureaucracy to use fire, so that a battalion commander can, for example, order an attack using fighter jets without a cumbersome approval procedure.
The change will allow the attack to take place within a few minutes, instead of about half an hour, while also the range of safety, ie, the distance of the attack from our forces, is significantly reduced, and it will be possible to attack an enemy even 250 meters away.
All of these are joined by many means that have hitherto belonged to the multidimensional unit only and will be distributed in the battalions during the coming year, when during the training each of the divisions is given a date for conversion and receipt of the means.
