The University of Aleppo today hosted the launch of the first conference entitled “Reconstruction after the war, strategies and experiences” at the Faculty of Architecture within the framework of cooperation between the Syrian and Iranian sides on Islamic urban planning and Islamic architecture, which will last for two days.

In his speech, Dr. Muhammad Manan Raisi, the scientific official of the conference, referred to the severe damage caused to Aleppo as a result of the terrorist war, especially in the valuable architectural works. That is why the Iranian delegation came to share its experiences in the reconstruction of this authentic city, stressing that this conference is an important step for the reconstruction of Despite the hardships.

In a statement to SANA, the President of the University of Aleppo, Dr. Maher Karman, stressed the importance of benefiting from the experiences of the Iranian delegation in reconstructing heritage ancient cities in order to reach better results and modern and in-depth studies to rebuild the ancient city of Aleppo.

Dr. Essam Tannous, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at the University, indicated that the university participated in academic lectures presented by specialized doctors to explain their experiences in this field and to develop a strategic vision for how to implement the steps of reconstruction after the war, pointing out that the conference includes two exhibitions documenting historical buildings in Aleppo and Iran in addition to presenting models of “Makitat” “Implemented by the college’s students, it embodies urban monuments and monuments.

Dr. Nasser Sajadi from the Iranian Consulate in Aleppo, who is in charge of the Scientific Communication Office between scientific centers and universities in Syria and Iran, confirmed in a similar statement that this conference is one of the results of the connection and communication between the two sides, and with the help of scientific and university specialists, countries can solve common and similar problems in economic and political terms.

Dr. Akbar Haji Ibrahim Zargar referred to the issues raised during the conference in terms of how to rebuild Aleppo, especially in the current circumstances, stressing the importance of the reflection of Iran's experiences in Aleppo for its reconstruction and the exchange of experiences between the two sides, wishing that the work would be fruitful.

Dr. Sakher Olabi, a participant in the conference, pointed out the importance of focusing on the situation of Aleppo after the terrorist war and the extent of destruction and the reconstruction of the old city and standing at the project to restore the Great Mosque in addition to shedding light on the difficulties we face in the complex restoration work, especially in archaeological sites, and the need to benefit from all experiences. .

For her part, Dr. Hala Aslan, expert of the International Council of Monuments and Archaeological Sites, indicated that the conference reviews projects for the restoration of ancient markets in Aleppo, such as the newly restored Suqati Market, and the importance of highlighting the rest of the restoration projects implemented by the official authorities in Aleppo, considering this conference a positive step in the direction of Iranian-Syrian scientific cooperation .
