"We have to go back to August 10,"

declared Nicolás Russo, president of Lanús, at the door of the Argentine Football Association at the Viamonte Street headquarters.

The leader refers to the health protocols corresponding to "Phase 1" to try to stop the wave of coronavirus infections in the First Division schools of Argentine football.

But what steps will be taken?

For now none, but rather to retake those that exist.

According to a statement from the AFA, in the next few days

"inspections will be carried out to corroborate exhaustive compliance with all the measures."

And although there was no official announcement, it is expected that footballers and members of the technical bodies plus those close to them will reinforce prevention measures.

- AFA (@afa) April 6, 2021

If - as Russo requests - we take the scene back to August 10,

the measures for the players according to the health protocol that the AFA

presented at the time in the Ministry of Health, which at that time had him in charge of Ginés González García, were the following:

-Keep informed of the guidelines of the national authorities.

These include public health recommendations and guidelines for controlling and preventing the spread of the virus.

-Respect the distance between people: at least 1.5 m.

-No more than 6 players / referees per training session on the same court.

-Avoid concentrations

-The players / referees are the only ones exempted from wearing chinstraps or masks.

All the rest of those present in the training session (Technical Corps, Medical Corps, props, assistants, leaders, etc.) must necessarily wear chinstraps or masks at all times.

-The mixing of work teams is not allowed.

Whether they are part of the Technical Corps, the Medical Corps or players / referees.

If a certain number of officials train with a group of 6 players / umpires, they will not be able to train with a different group later.

-It is not convenient for players of the same position to train in the same turn.

-Install to maintain good hygiene.

-It is not advisable to offer refreshments to the players / referees and Technical Corps involved in the practices.

-Wash your hands well, using hand sanitizer.

-Avoid touching your eyes, mouth and nose.

-Cough or sneeze into a tissue or the crook of the elbow, covering the mouth and nose.

-Throw the tissues in a sealed container.

-Disinfect sports equipment regularly, as well as areas where more people circulate.

-

Avoid sharing sports equipment such

as water bottles.

-It is recommended that each of the players / referees attend the training sessions provided with their own hydration.

-Have strategies to limit contact / interaction.

For example, in a building, establish one-way paths and keep the doors open.

-It is prohibited to shake hands, high

five

and any other physical contact.

-Prohibit salivation, in any place and form.

-Prohibit sharing any type of infusion, especially mate

-Sleep and eat properly

-Make a close follow-up of the participants to notice typical symptoms of the flu, isolate those affected and contact the doctor immediately in case of detecting respiratory conditions.

-Implement the recommended protective measures, including daily medical check-ups (from the examination to detect respiratory symptoms, fever, to the laboratory test of COVID19).

-Perform specific tests of the respiratory, cardiac and musculoskeletal systems, as indicated by health professionals, depending on availability, exposure to the virus, economic capacity and the level of competition.

-

Carry out tests on soccer participants according to the availability and reliability of the tests.

It is important that the tests are public (that they are not obtained and used depriving the national and local public health of them).

The tests will only be used after scientific validation according to local availability and according to the indications of the health authorities, together with the correct training and understanding of the operation of the tests and the meaning of the results.

These tests will be of common use both PCR and antibodies.

They will be carried out by personnel independent of the entity where the tests are taken, competent, and previously trained.

-A correct proposal for a COVID-19 testing procedure would be the following:

perform the COVID-19 test on all soccer players / referees who return to activity, and those with whom they have had any type of contact

, to protect and build confidence and mental health, both within and around the team.

-Disinfect the means of transport used to attend training sessions.

In the event that the members of the sports practices do not have their own mobility, it is convenient for the sports entity involved to implement a previously contracted door-to-door transfer system.

In all cases, it is recommended that those who have a vehicle do not transport more than two people per vehicle

, respecting the personal distances established by the national health organizations.

-Disinfect the place and distribution channels.

-If the sports entity is not sure how to proceed correctly in this regard, we suggest hiring trained personnel or certified companies that guarantee the correct way of acting, and that can adequately transmit all the necessary knowledge.

-Work with the minimum staff to reduce the risk of contagion.

Minimize the members of the Technical Corps as much as possible

and all those who do not train must have the mandatory mask.

-Apply and maintain physical distancing measures
