As of April 4, the Department of Health has received a total of 15 reports from the Hospital Authority regarding deaths from COVID-19 vaccination.
The Expert Committee on Evaluation of Clinical Events of the New Coronary Vaccine held a meeting today (7th) to evaluate three serious and abnormal incidents related to the vaccination of the new coronavirus.
The authorities announced for the first time that a 68-year-old woman who died on March 29 had been vaccinated with Kexing vaccine on March 3, 26 days before her death.
She suffered from hypertension, dyslipidemia, and hypothyroidism. Initial autopsy revealed that the cause of her death was acute myocardial infarction, which was not directly related to vaccination.
The other two men died of 67 and 62 years old. The former died of acute myocardial infarction caused by coronary atherosclerosis. The expert committee said there was no causal relationship with the vaccination; the latter still needs to be evaluated by the preliminary autopsy report.

The committee concluded that 3 cases were not causally related to vaccination
The expert committee reviewed each case based on the existing information, including consideration of the patient’s condition and medical history, relevant clinical data, information related to the vaccine, and preliminary anatomy reports.
The death cases involved 11 males and 4 females, aged between 55 and 80 years old, 13 of whom had been vaccinated with Kexing vaccine and 2 were vaccinated with Fubital vaccine before their lives.
The committee believes that most of the cases died of cardiovascular disease.
The expert committee has concluded on three of these cases that there is no causal relationship between the deaths and vaccination; the medical records and preliminary autopsy reports of the other 11 cases show that the deaths are not directly related to the vaccination; the remaining one case was 25 before the death. After receiving the Kexing vaccine in Japan, the expert committee will make a summary of the evaluation of these cases after obtaining the necessary information.

Diagnosed 67-year-old man died of acute myocardial infarction
According to a comprehensive autopsy report, the 67-year-old man who passed away on March 13 showed that the death was caused by acute myocardial infarction caused by coronary atherosclerosis. The examination report did not find any possible immune response caused by the vaccine. Therefore, the committee believes that the man There is no causal relationship between the deaths and vaccination.

According to local mortality data, in the same period in 2019, among the population aged 55 or above, 438 people died of ischemic heart disease, that is, 17.2 deaths per 100,000 people.
There are 716 deaths from heart disease, or 28.1 deaths per 100,000 people.
The expert committee reviewed these data and concluded that no unusual phenomena have been found so far.
The expert committee will continue to monitor the situation closely and will collect more data for further evaluation.
