A suspected animal cruelty case occurred in Yuen Long.
At about 10 pm on April 7, a resident of a village house in Gangtou New Village, Yuen Long reported a case that two dogs raised by him were suspected of being soaked with unknown liquid earlier, causing burns.
The police and the SPCA staff arrived at the scene one after the other. After inspection, the two dogs were found to have suspicious burns on their backs, and they had been infected. Fortunately, the two dogs were still awake, and the staff of the Association cleaned the wounds for the two dogs and sent them back to the love. The animal association is waiting for the veterinarian to manage.
It is reported that the village house on the site occupies more than 10,000 square feet and is divided into multiple units and different residents.
The two dogs involved are Tang dogs. They are mother-daughter. The dog’s mother is 12 years old and the dog girl is also 7 years old. They were adopted by one of the residents, planted with chips, and stocked in the village house on weekdays.
After preliminary investigation, it was suspected that the spilled liquid was boiling water. It is known that the dog owner said that he had not complained with people and had not received complaints about the dog.
The police said that at 10:46 pm on April 7, the police received a report from a 63-year-old man surnamed Liu, stating that two of his dogs were injured in the back and suspected of being treated inappropriately.
Police officers received the report and arrived at the scene in Gangtou Village, Long Ho Road, Yuen Long. After preliminary investigation, the case was classified as "Cruel Treatment of Animals" and was handed over to the Criminal Investigation Team of Yuen Long Police District for follow-up. No one has been arrested yet.
The two dogs were taken away by relevant agencies for inspection.
