Armenian Prime Minister Pashinian seeks Russian support for re-election

2021-04-07T17:55:59.123Z

Candidate for his re-election, the prime minister, at odds with Putin, has been criticized since the military debacle against the Azeris in 2020.

Like all those who meet Vladimir Putin face to face, Nikol Pachinian had to submit to a strict quarantine for nearly a week, before being received in Moscow on Wednesday by the Russian president.

It is an understatement to say that the Armenian Prime Minister arrived at the meeting in a weak position.

Since March 28, he is moreover virtually only an interim Prime Minister.
