The defense establishment is criticizing the way the IDF is conducting the campaign against Iran, following recent reports of an attack on two Israeli-owned civilian vessels in the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean, and also following foreign reports that Israel is behind the attack on an Iranian cargo ship off the coast of Eritrea. According to sources in the defense establishment, there are disagreements within the IDF and between them and other security bodies in Israel regarding the conduct of the campaign against Iran and regarding responses to the attack on the vessel.
"The fact that the Iranians attacked two Israeli-owned civilian vessels indicates the failure of the battle commanders, there is no other word," the sources explained.
"This campaign should be covert, vague and indirect. It certainly cannot endanger Israel's civil interests."
They added that "at this stage it is impossible to ignore the complex security reality that has been created and certainly not the foreign publications about an attack on an Iranian ship attributed to Israel, especially after the American denial that this is not their action. "Sailing others. Someone needs to think about it."

Against this background, Defense Minister Bnei Gantz said that Israel would continue to defend itself.
"I do not refer to any of the actions in the Middle East that are associated with us," he said at an event marking a decade since the Iron Dome.
"But we are not going out after a point in time. A defensive line is not enough. If necessary, we will carry out offensive actions."
The Iranian ship, which according to foreign reports was hit by mines, is well known in the Israeli security system and has been photographed in the past by satellites.
According to experts in Israel, this is a ship that has been used by the Revolutionary Guards in Iran for many years for logistics purposes, which will pass security guards or deposit weapons before crossing the Suez Canal.

The ship is located a huge distance from Yemen so it has no direct part in the smuggling route of weapons and fuel from Iran to the region.
According to expert estimates, the person who attacked the Revolutionary Guards' ship was a weak and not powerful broadcast, and that everyone who sails in the area knows to whom this ship belongs, so it is not a ship operating in disguise or secretly.
