The United States is ready to lift sanctions on Iran to allow a return to the nuclear deal, the Reuters news agency reported Thursday night.
According to the report, the Biden administration intends to repeal sanctions that do not comply with the 2015 agreement, but does not specify which ones they are.
US State Department spokesman Ned Price told US journalists: "We are ready to take the necessary steps to return to the Powers agreement with Iran, including sanctions that are inconsistent with the agreement."

About a week ago, the commander of the Revolutionary Guards, General Hussein Salami, declared that Iran did not need an agreement and noted that the regime in Tehran was indifferent to the US sanctions affecting the country's economy.
His remarks were in response to a report on the Politico website, which said that US President Joe Biden's administration was considering offering Iran a reduction in sanctions in exchange for stopping uranium enrichment and installing advanced centrifuges at the country's nuclear facilities, as a first step in negotiating a nuclear deal.
Meanwhile, during his speech at the state Holocaust memorial service held at Yad Vashem, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the issue last night.
"There is a huge change taking place in the Arab world in relation to Israel and the Holocaust. But as we move forward, there are things that can take us back. "That such agreements, with such extremist regimes, are worth as much as a clove of garlic. An agreement with Iran that will pave the way for nuclear weapons will not obligate us in any way."
