The father suspected of murdering his 14-year-old son in Kiryat Gat is unfit to stand trial.

This was determined today (Wednesday) in the Ashkelon Magistrate's Court, according to the opinion of the district psychiatrist.

In court they received the opinion that the father is capable of following the legal proceedings.

The opinion submitted stated that following the taking of the drug, which was presented by the therapist as a natural remedy, there was a significant change in the mental state of the father.

The opinion as to his suitability at the time of the commission of the offense can be submitted only after the indictment and the reading of the materials by the district psychiatrist.

In view of his difficult condition, a court ordered his continued hospitalization.

A hearing on the continuation of his detention, the indictment and the question of his fitness will take place this coming Sunday in the Be'er Sheva district.

Attorneys Yehuda Fried and Tal Gabay, representing the father, stated at the end of the hearing: "An opinion from the district psychiatrist received today states that the father is fit to stand trial.

The fact that several weeks have passed since the murder and yet the father is not even fit to stand trial necessarily indicates his difficult mental state at the time of the murder, which was caused as a result of the hard drugs given to him under the guise of a natural remedy by the same charlatan.

"So not only have the drugs caused a psychotic attack, but to this day their bad effect is evident and therefore the father is still in this situation. We are confident that the prosecution will know how to exhaust the full severity of the sentence with the same therapist responsible for the criminal His year. "
