Italy announced Wednesday to reserve the use of AstraZeneca's Covid-19 vaccine for those over 60, following reports confirming a link to rare cases of blood clots.

It was decided "
to recommend the use preferably to people over the age of 60
," Italian government science adviser Franco Locatelli told a press conference hours after the European Agency for Medicines (EMA) proposed to list the risk of blood clots as a rare side effect of the Anglo-Swedish vaccine.
