For the first time:

Holocaust remembrance and heroism ceremonies are held in the Arabian Gulf.

Tonight (Wednesday) an exciting event took place in Dubai, during which participants from the United Arab Emirates spoke and six memorial candles were lit.

Druze singer Louis Ali also took part in the ceremony.

Towards the end of the event, a "remembrance" prayer was also said in memory of the victims of the Holocaust.

The initiative is backed by the Israelis Association and the UAE-is organization.

Earlier this week, the Association of Jewish Communities in the Gulf announced the holding of a series of memorial events in which young Muslims from Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates will participate, and learn about the horrors of the Holocaust.

The announcement said that tomorrow at 19:00 there will be memorial events in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

And at 20:00 there will be events in the UAE and Oman.

"For the first time ever, the Jewish communities in Bahrain and Dubai will participate in the 'Yellow Candle' project, a global effort to remember Holocaust victims when members of each community light a yellow candle in memory of a Jew who perished during the Holocaust," the statement said.
