Now that Mexicans are paying approximately one dollar for each liter of gasoline, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador says that there is no escalation in prices but that it is a "lie" by members of the conservative press.

Experts estimate that fuel prices have risen by at least 30% in the last year, while the federal government says that it is the subsidies that are not being reflected in the prices that some service stations offer to consumers.
