We remember the partisans, the ghetto rebels and the brigade fighters who showed supreme heroism when they fought with courage and ferocity.
We remember the Holocaust survivors who immigrated to Israel directly to the War of Independence and fell in the struggle for the revival and security of the State of Israel.
The warriors who swore to rise like the phoenix rose from the ashes, and mobilized all their forces to fight battles throughout the land throughout the systems of Israel, and hardened their souls for the realization of our independence.
We also remember the Holocaust survivors living with us and among us today, those who experienced the destruction and were part of the resurrection, and get to see the house they built, the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and live in peace and security in the State of Israel - and experience the great light that grew out of darkness.
