Iran's President Hassan Rouhani is hoping for a revival of the nuclear deal with the United States.
"Once again, all parties have come to the conclusion that there is no better alternative," said Rohani on Wednesday during negotiations in Vienna.
"So we can hope for a renaissance of the Vienna nuclear agreement."
Negotiations have been underway in Vienna to reinstate the nuclear agreement since Tuesday.
One wanted to wait for the results of the talks, it said in Rouhani's announcement.
"The US says they want to go back to the agreement ... well, let's see how seriously they mean it." A US delegation also traveled to Vienna, but at least for the time being is not taking part in the negotiations with Iran.
A “constructive” first round in Vienna
The nuclear agreement was signed in 2015 in Vienna between Iran, the five UN veto powers and Germany.
It was supposed to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons, and in return sanctions against the country should be removed.
The prospect of economic cooperation never materialized due to the USA's change of course under Trump: Instead, the USA withdrew from the agreement in 2018 and imposed new sanctions on Iran.
As a result, Tehran gradually withdrew from its obligations.
The new US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced in February that the US wanted to continue and strengthen the nuclear deal under President Joe Biden.
The five remaining partners in the agreement - Russia, China, Germany, France and Great Britain - have tried for the past two years to keep the arrangement alive.
The first round of the current negotiations in Vienna was constructive, said Iranian representatives.
The talks are to be continued on Friday.
