A new “shared micromobility” service is appearing in the Parisian landscape.
Since Wednesday, the Californian operator Lime has enriched its range of self-service vehicles.
In addition to the 5,000 scooters and 5,000 bicycles already in circulation in Paris, it deploys 1,000 electric scooters.
The machines, clamped at 45 km / h, can carry the driver as well as a passenger.
Each scooter is equipped with two helmets.
Price: 39 euro cents per minute, without unlocking fees.
Lime thus comes to compete with the French Cityscoot and its 3,500 scooters located in Paris and in the inner suburbs.
“Paris is the first city in Europe to have all three types of Lime vehicles, and we are proud to provide our operational know-how to allow Parisian users to make any journey, at any time, for go anywhere in the city without constraint, ”says Garance Lefèvre, director of public affairs for Lime in France.
Have a road safety license or certificate
Gradually, the Lime electric scooter offer will be integrated into the Assistant SNCF, Google Maps and CityMapper applications.
In order to access the service, users must have a B license, A license or the BSR.
The user must take a photo of himself wearing a helmet, software will identify if he is wearing one, otherwise he will not be able to start his journey.
"Lime will take strict measures if security breaches are proven and repeated by the user, including his permanent withdrawal from the platform," warns the operator.
“The future of micromobility starts with respecting the rules of good conduct for responsible sharing of public space,” says Garance Lefèvre.
Lime automatically offers users personal accident insurance and liability insurance at no additional cost.
