They are small gestures that are worth so much: For more than ten years now, there has been a solid group of volunteers in Peiting who regularly come to the Marienheim in Peiting to visit the young people who live there and to do something with them.
Peiting
- "In the first few years we mainly visited the facility - usually once a month at the weekend - where there were sociable get-togethers over coffee and cake," reports the outgoing facility manager Franz Straif.
In recent years, however, the visit concept has been expanded: Since then, adventure-oriented joint excursions have been increasingly taking place - for example to the zoo or the Glentleiten open-air museum.
Since last year, this is of course no longer possible due to the corona.
Nevertheless, Straif and his colleagues recently took the opportunity to thank the volunteer visitors.
So he gave gift baskets to Daniela Del Grande, Christine Ritschel, Brigitta and Dr.
Cornelius Pirzer and Hannelore Lutzenberger.
At the handover, the Marienheim employee Christina Sprößer was missing, who accompanies and coordinates the voluntary work of the visitors with a lot of passion.
"Through your work you are making an important contribution to inclusion, understanding and cooperation between the Peitingers and our residents," Straif praised the visiting service.
