A mentally ill waitress snatched a police officer's gun outside the North Lantau Police Station, intending to commit suicide.
She was originally charged with robbery. When the case was heard again in West Kowloon Magistracy today (7th), the prosecution revised the charge to attempt to possess firearms or ammunition without a license.
The waitress pleaded guilty, and the case was postponed to April 21 and sentenced to obtain two psychiatric reports and probation officer reports on her behalf, during which time she had to return to the Tsun Siu Lam Psychiatric Center.
The defendant Huang Qiting (33 years old) reported that the waiter was charged with snatching a police officer's pistol outside the North Lantau Police Station on February 9, 2021.
The case alleged that the defendant was wandering outside the police station and snatched a gun from behind a police officer. The officer turned around on the holster and the gun was snatched out of the holster.
The police eventually arrested her and took her back to the police station. She expressed her desire to commit suicide: "I'm not happy, I want to bomb myself."

She lives with her mother who suffers from depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder. The defendant also consulted for anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder in 2019.
The defense also stated that the defendant was unhappy at the time because his boss accused him of work performance. The only purpose of robbing the gun was to end his own life, and had no intention of damaging property or hurting others.
The defense described the incident as unfortunate, and it would be even more unfortunate if the defendant "successfully" committed suicide.
The magistrate believes that grabbing a gun can lead to serious consequences, or it may go off and cause others to be injured.
The magistrate adjourned the sentence until April 21, during which he obtained two psychiatric reports and a probation officer report for the defendant. The defendant had to return to the Su Xiaolan Psychiatric Center.
