After the funeral of his cousin Donovon Lynch, singer Pharrell Williams shared his grief on Instagram.

After the investigation left many questions unanswered, he called on the US federal authorities to intervene.

An email to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Virginia was not directly replied to.

Lynch, 25, was shot dead by a police officer on the street in late March.

The course of events cannot be fully checked because the policeman's body camera was not switched on.

The Virginia Beach Police Department recently turned the investigation into Lynch's death to the Virginia State Police.

"I had to give a speech at my cousin's funeral and I was overwhelmed by emotion," Pharrell wrote on the social media post.

“Too many unanswered questions from the city and the state.

With all due respect, I request a federal investigation.

I also humbly ask that you all keep the family in prayer.

His name is Donov von Wayne Lynch. "

In the early morning hours of March 27th, Lynch was shot and killed along the popular hotel and restaurant mile of Virgina Beach.

Previously, two other shootings had wreaked havoc nearby.

Lynch is one of two fatalities and eight other people were injured.

According to the local police, Lynch had a gun, which was found at the scene.

The body camera of the officer who shot Lynch had not been activated.

The perpetrator and the victim were both black.

Lynch lived in Virginia Beach, where his cousin Williams grew up.
