As the United States and the world powers make efforts to return to the nuclear deal with Iran, Israel reveals that Iran has conducted tests of ballistic missiles designed to carry nuclear arrowheads.

Israel's ambassador to the United States and the United Nations, Gilad Ardan, yesterday sent an official letter of complaint to the members of the Security Council and to the UN secretary general, revealing the information about the tests that Tehran has conducted in recent months. Which is a violation of Resolution 2231.

Arden demanded that council members condemn Iranian activity.

He wrote to the 15 members that "the Security Council must respond to threats to world peace and security coming from Iran. The members of the Security Council should investigate the information that Israel has disclosed to the Council and report on it in the forthcoming report on Resolution 2231. Arden details in a letter the type of missiles that Iran has launched and their capabilities.

He wrote that during a military exercise called "The Great Prophet 15", which Iran conducted in mid-January, missiles were fired at various ranges.

Among other things, the "Segil" missile is capable of carrying an explosive warhead of 650 kg and has a range of up to 2,000 km;

The Gader missile, which can carry an explosive warhead of 650 kg for a range of 1,900 km, and others.

"This technological advancement once again underscores the close connection between the Iranian space program and the military programs, which are operating in parallel, to bring about the development of its capability to carry nuclear warheads," Arden warned.

Iran threatens: We will not remain silent

Meanwhile, Iran warned Israel and the United States yesterday that there could be a target for retaliation for the attack on the ship "Saviz" in the Red Sea this week. An Iranian military spokesman said that "the United States was undoubtedly involved" and Or were these factors identified with them.

He said "he has no doubt" that Iran will respond, but for the time being will wait until the investigation into the incident is completed.

"If we find out who is behind the attack, we will definitely respond. We will not be silent," he said.

The ship, which is also used by the Revolutionary Guards for espionage purposes, was hit on Tuesday, in an incident that included naval mines.

The attack coincided with indirect talks between the United States and Iran in Vienna, as part of European efforts to mediate the parties' implementation of the 2015 nuclear deal.

On Wednesday, a U.S. State Department spokesman reiterated that the United States is willing to consider lifting sanctions on Iran to bring it to a position where it fulfills its part of the agreement. The Biden administration intends to return to an agreement with Iran, and even warned that the Republicans intend to thwart any move to lift sanctions as long as Tehran does not meet the 12 key requirements set by the Trump administration at the time.

Meanwhile, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin will arrive in Israel on Sunday.

This will be the first physical visit by a senior representative of the Biden government to Israel.

Austin will meet with his colleague, Defense Minister Bnei Gantz, Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi, Prime Minister Netanyahu and probably also Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi. It is estimated that the Iran issue will be at the heart of the talks.
