The "Everyone has a Name" memorial service was held today (Thursday) at the Knesset, and as every year, President Reuven Rivlin, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Supreme Court President Esther Hayut, ministers and Knesset members took to the podium in Chagall Hall to honor the memory of their perished loved ones. In the Holocaust.

MK Ahmad Tibi from the joint list left the ceremony when MK Itamar Ben Gvir was called to take the stage to read the names of Iraqi victims in the Holocaust.

Just two days after the inauguration of the 24th Knesset, this event also became a tussle between the two.

Ben Gvir later wrote on Twitter that Tibi "the aide to the assassin of Arafat should not be in the Knesset of Israel," adding that "every minute that a terrorist supporter is present in the Mishkan is a spit in the face of the people of Israel and the millions who perished."

MK Tibi claimed in response that he would continue to fight "against violence, against racism and against fascism", as he put it, and clarified that "I will never give legitimacy to a racist who denies my and my people's human rights because of who I am and who we are."

Another unusual event occurred at the beginning of the ceremony.

According to a complaint filed by MK Avi Maoz - a representative of the Noam party, and a son of Holocaust survivors - to a Knesset officer, a guest who was invited to the Mishkan and accompanied a Holocaust survivor who attended approached MK Maoz and cursed him sharply, claiming: "You are not ashamed to attend such a ceremony "It was a pity that you lived, and that your parents were not burned there."

Maoz claims that the security personnel of the Knesset Guard distanced him from him, and the Knesset responded: "The case will be investigated and until further notice, the person's approval will be blocked from entering the Knesset."

MK Maoz wrote a letter to the Speaker of the Knesset in which he described the details of the incident, claiming that "I have no hatred for that unfortunate person, but only pity, I love him as I love every person in Israel and every person as a person."

Maoz added: "This shocking sentence is a direct continuation of the incitement and hatred spread by various organizations, which only yesterday compared me to Ali Khamenei," noting that "despite all the insults, hatred and incitement, I will continue on my path, through love and grace, a mission and devotion for the people of Israel and for Everyone from Israel.
