The Martínez Caba know what it is to sacrifice to get ahead.

In 1993, the father of the family, Zenón Martínez, now 45 years old, arrived from Potosí, Bolivia, to look for work.

He went back and forth.

His two daughters were born in Luján.

In the last hours, the members of this

family of humble flower growers

received the worst blow of their lives: motochorros shot and killed José Luis Martínez Caba (26) to steal his truck, in Escobar.

It happened around midnight on Wednesday night.

The victim died this morning at Erill Hospital.

José Luis had gone to a bus stop in his Renault Oroch pickup, as

his wife was arriving from a trip to La Quiaca

He stopped on Las Margaritas street, between Las Orquídeas and Los Tulipanes, a few meters from the Panamericana collector of the Escobar branch, in the Luchetti neighborhood, when two armed robbers on motorcycles threatened to rob him.

Judicial sources confirmed to

Clarín

that the victim gave up his truck after two people intercepted him on "

a dark motorcycle

."

However, despite the fact that witnesses confirmed that he

did not resist, they shot him in the chest.

The motorcycle jets had helmets and, in an area without lighting on the public highway, the witnesses were unable to detect characteristics that would allow them to be identified.

The security cameras in the area managed to take the vehicle in which the murderers of José Luis were circulating, but "due to the poor definition, the patent is not fully identified," the sources confided.

"They shot him anyway, even though he had already given up everything and did not put up any resistance," they added.

Seriously injured, José Luis was assisted by the neighbors, who notified his family.

They transferred him to Erill Hospital.

However, his state of health worsened, as he lost a lot of blood, and he ended up dying.

Now his family is waiting for the body to be given to them so they can fire him this Friday at 11 a.m. at the Escobar municipal cemetery.

José Luis was a

fan of River and had two children

: a 5-year-old girl with his wife and a 4-year-old boy from another relationship.

His brother had become independent and was working on his own.

They all lived in the Belén de Escobar area, where hundreds of members of the Bolivian community grow flowers and plants in greenhouses.
