A year ago, the major construction site in the center moved from Karl-Lederer-Platz to Egerlandstrasse.
The busy road was closed to traffic so that an underground car park can also be built there under the public traffic area.
At the same time, new residential and commercial buildings are being built there.
Time to take stock.
Geretsried - "This year I experienced a medium-difficulty mountain tour," says Wolfgang Selig.
He is the managing director of the Geretsrieder building cooperative, which coordinates the construction project.
"Most of the time things are going well and routinely, but occasionally there is a tricky passage where you have to be very concentrated."
Relocation of the divisions was the biggest obstacle
Selig experienced a surprise right at the start of the construction work when an excavator tore off a pipe.
The building cooperative has its office in the BGZ, which is right next to the construction site.
"At that time a firefighter called up to me to close my office window jaggedly because of a gas leak." An officially disconnected line was still under pressure.
“Of course, the excavator driver couldn't have known that,” says Selig, looking back.
"Fortunately, nothing happened to anyone." The biggest obstacle at this time was the reallocation of the divisions in Egerlandstrasse, especially the main sewer.
Apart from the gas leak, by and large everything is going according to plan, “considering the size of the construction site”.
In a year the shell should be finished and the facade closed, announced Selig.
"The building heating then ensures that the craftsmen do not have to freeze during the interior work." And all those involved look back on a topping-out ceremony, which was allowed to take place in a very traditional way after many successful vaccinations without corona restrictions, "hopes the managing director.
Business people get annoyed with long-term parkers
The construction site brings burdens for residents and businesses.
In the small row of shops at the northern end of the construction site, a small hairdresser has given up.
The doors of the neighboring tailor's shop have also been closed for some time.
According to the notice, a successor for the business is being sought.
The position is held by the Italian restaurant Il Soprano, the Bellissimo decoration and gift shop, the Style & More fashion store and the Iris pharmacy.
Pharmacist Uwe Schoßig looks back, looking back at the noise pollution in the beginning.
Geretsrieder says pragmatically that you have to live with the construction site as well as you can.
“We can't change it anyway.” But: The workers “make an effort and do it quickly,” he observed.
“They also try to contain the harassment.
And if something happens, they react quickly. ”What they have no influence on, however, is customer frequency.
"There are significantly fewer."

The Stern-Apotheke, Intersport Utzinger, Rewe, Schmid-Bäck 'and the Isar department store have the other end of the construction site right in front of their noses.
"The construction site is going pretty smoothly," said Isar department store manager Frederik Holthaus.
When concrete is poured, “the concrete mixers come in here every 20 minutes.
There are always marshals outside who watch out, ”praises the businessman.
As well as the construction site is organized, in Holthaus' opinion the municipal traffic monitoring system works just as badly.
"It is a major annoyance that residents park everything and customers cannot find parking spaces." It is particularly bad on Friday afternoons, on Saturdays and usually from 5 pm on weekdays.
"There are times when our customers also have time and then cannot find a parking space."
Claimants continue to need patience
The members of the interest group (IG) “Pro Egerlandstrasse” still have to be very patient.
There is still no date when the Bavarian Administrative Court (VGH) will deal with your complaint.
The proceedings there has been pending since mid-2019.
As reported, the subject matter is the project-related development plan for the new residential and commercial building of the Geretsried building cooperative (BG) on Egerlandstrasse.
The members of the community of interests, predominantly property owners and tradespeople on Egerlandstrasse, fear the major construction site will impair and lose sales.
According to IG spokesman and Isar department store operator Frederik Holthaus, in order to be able to take civil action against the building cooperative later, it is legally necessary to contest the development plan beforehand with the aid of a standards review suit.
"Scheduling can probably only take place at the end of the first half of 2021", says VGH press spokeswoman Dr.
Franziska Haberl.
IG spokesman Holthaus takes note of this message with these words: "We would like it to be faster."
The underground car park at Karl-Lederer-Platz provided a little relaxation, according to the entrepreneur.
“But parking spaces near our department store have decreased since the road was closed.” The latter also had an impact on accessibility.
"Customers can only come to us from the south or the Böhmerwaldstrasse and the Fasanenweg." We have already suffered a great deal of damage.

Rewe will open for the last time on April 29th
Here, too, already limited customer frequency will presumably decrease again at the end of the month: The days of the small Rewe store are numbered.
The lease expires as reported.
Last opening day is Thursday, April 29th.
"Until then, the goods will be sold off as well as possible and stocks will be reduced," said a company spokeswoman when asked by our newspaper.
"The supply will of course be guaranteed until the end."
